The biggest repetitious cliches we hear every New Years “New Year, New Me”! This year open your mind to a new you. Not as the cliches…
New Year represents New Beginnings! This is an opportunity to make tangible resolutions, new commitments to your journey, being present in the moment, excepting your failures not as defeat but as learning experiences, and so much more. Take the time to recognize what will suite your next phase.
Spiritual growth for me that is key! Our lives today are so consumed with many distractions. Being grounded in your faith and spiritual beliefs is key to every aspect of our lives. It’s a matter of Faith! For me my Faith in God is what maintains my foundation. Daily affirmations help keep me focused when things seem to be shaken. Meditation helps me to settle the disruption of my thoughts. When my mind seems to be full of life events or just simple repetitions. I keep a note pad to write down what I need or would like to see in my life. Then visualize them as if they have happened. These are one of many things in the process of my spiritual growth. You personally choose your directions. Regardless of the direction you chose Have Faith in yourself to follow through!
AFFIRMATION: “I GOT THIS” “ I AM GROUNDED IN MY FAITH AND MY FAITH SUSTAINS ME” “ GOD’S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT “ “ I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS ME”
Now that you’ve moved into your spiritual path, now lets make a commitment. Make a personal commitment to yourself and God that you will be consistent and diligent on this journey. A commitment means you will not quite on you nor give up on your faith. Don’t stop no matter what things look like! Keep going! “Walk by Faith and not by Sight” Remember looks can be deceiving. At the most difficult time in your journey is normally when you’re the closets to your next level or fruition of a vision. Keep going, Stand on your faith and stay committed to your journey.
Be present! Shut down the distractions. Yes this may mean your most trusted electronic devices; iPads, laptops, cell phones, fire tv, Ect. Be still! Be still in your thoughts now that you’ve eliminated your most tangible distractions. Take this time for meditations, self reflections, acknowledge emotions. This would be my time in prayer and meditation. At times I will limit conversations especially with negative individuals. Taking time with those like minded people who lift you up instead of weigh you down. Some are takers some are givers, I prefer the ones who understand balance in life. Who know when to be present and when to simply step away. Balance allows you to control your space. Giving enough not to deplete and stepping away to regroup to give back to yourself. I myself have learned the importance of balance. Even when those takers feel my time to myself still belongs to them because they feel empty without my giving. This is why shutting down those distractions are so important to your moment of replenishing yourself. Emotional vampires normally tug at you the most during this time. It’s ok they will find someone else to tug on, let them go!
Overall, There are so many ways to literally grow in this season. Just chose the one that suites your season best and start from there!
“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”
